ATO Stepper Motors

Features

Precise position control

Stepper motor rotates at a fixed step angle, like the second hand in a clock. This angle is called the basic step angle. ATO offers 2 phase and 3 phase standard stepper motors with a basic step angle of 1.8°.

Simple pulse signal control

The pulse signal sent by the controller can accurately control the rotation angle and speed of the stepping motor.

No cumulative difference

The accuracy of the stepper motor is 3-5% of the step angle, not cumulative. It has only periodic errors and no cumulative error.

Torque will decrease as the speed increases

When the stepper motor rotates, the inductance of each phase winding of the motor will form a back electromotive force; the higher the frequency, the greater the back electromotive force. Under its action, the phase current of the motor decreases as the frequency (or speed) increases, resulting in a decrease in torque.

Works fine at low speed

Stepper motor can run normally at low speed. It has no-load start-up frequency that the pulse frequency at which the stepper motor can start normally under no-load conditions. Under load, the starting frequency should be lower.

Stepper Motor Drivers

A stepper motor driver receives low-level signals from a controller / indexer and converts them into electrical winding currents to run a stepper motor.
